“Card exchange” campaign in the district of Tübingen

50 € cash is not enough.

In Baden-Württemberg, many refugees receive their money on a payment card. You can only withdraw €50 in cash per month from this card.

You cannot shop at places that do not have a card reader, just as at flea markets or websites like Kleinanzeigen for example. That’s why 50 € cash per month is not enough.

Have you received a payment card from the district administration?

Then come to one of our exchange points. We want to make it possible for you to exchange an additional part of the credit on your payment card for cash.

We are an alliance of non-governmental organizations that support refugees in the district of Tübingen.
On this page we explain how the card exchange works and where you can exchange cards.

Would you like to support refugees affected by this restriction?

...because you find it discriminatory that people have to live with this restriction? Are you against right-wing populist symbolic politics and want to counter it with your practical solidarity?

It's very simple: you come to one of our exchange points and exchange your cash for a gift card. A refugee has previously bought the gift card with their payment card and received cash from us in return.

Here are the exchange points:
